 It's time for the party of the year when folks from all over Ecuador descend on L&S Farm to partake, (and prepare if they choose), some of the country's best chilies.  It's a get down, good ole time!  RSVP Tickets are available now for purchase. $5.00 gets you into the party where you'll get a bowl and spoon to taste all the chili's, and an entry into the raffle. Tix will also be available at the Door on day of event.
 
 We have transportation available from San Francisco park in Cotacachi starting at 11:30 on Saturday, August 12th for $1 per person and will be available throughout the afternoon with Mapochtour (Patricio and Milton Andramunio). https://www.facebook.com/MapochTour-2155539567997069
 Just meet them fine fellows and their Shuttle Vans are awaiting in the San Francisco park square and they will run you and yours in their shuttle service to and from the farm.


 Party Info- The farm opens at 11:30 on Saturday, August 12th, and will be open until 5:00pm. The chili cookoff starts at 12:30, that's when you can start tasting all the delicious entries. The last votes will need to be cast by 3:30pm, and we will be announcing the Chili Cookoff winners at 4:00pm.

 Each ticket purchased comes with a bowl to taste all the chilis, a vote in the cook-off, and an entry into the raffle drawings, keep an eye out for the raffle prizes to be announced soon! When you purchase your ticket a raffle ticket is automatically entered. When you arrive at the party we will give you your ballot, a bowl and a spoon.

 Come early and come hungry. We will have the smokers running with fresh L&S products ready to fill your tummy. Available for purchase will be a variety of products including smoked ribs, pulled chicken sliders, bratwurst and spicy Italian sausages, and all beef hot dogs along with all the fixin's.

 Don't forget we will have beer, 🍻 drinks, 🍹and soft drinks to wet your pallet. Sorry ya'll, we love all animals but for the safety of our pets and pigs we ask that you leave yours at home.

 Directions to the Farm: The Chili Cookoff is held at L&S Farm, right outside Cotacachi. We are located 2 hours North of Quito, near the Indigenous community of La Calera. 10 minutes from the beautiful hamlet of Cotacachi, known for it's leather goods and craftsman, and 15 minutes from the Saturday market at Plaza de Ponchos in Otavalo.

The gate is a simple black gate and has "LNS Farm" written on it. Please go to the first stop light at Sucre and 10 de agosto in Cotacachi before starting the directions, And Don't forget about the shuttle to and from Parque San Francisco in Cotacachi and the farm running throughout the afternoon.  Chili Contestant Information!- Here is all the information if you're thinking about entering a chili in the Cookoff. It's so much fun! 2023 L&S Farm and Artisan Meats Chili Cook Off rules:

    -For the purpose of this event “Chili” is defined as any stew type dish. Meat, no meat; beans, no beans; tomatoes, no tomatoes; It's up to you!
    -Each Chili entered must have a name, and/or theme.  We encourage you to have fun and be creative with this. Costumes are encouraged, bribery is not. No cheating, cheating is bad.

    -Each person attending the chili cook off will get one vote in the cook off. The votes will determine the winner of the L&S Artisan Meats Chili Cook-off.
    -Each chili entered will receive a $10.00 L&S Artisan Meats gift certificate, one free entrance into the party, and one vote.  Participants may use their gift certificates in advance
     if you’d like to purchase L&S products for your chili.

    -Please have available all of the ingredients in your chili, as well as a spice level, only for the purpose of food allergies or sensitivities.
    -Please make 8 quarts or more of chili. The more tasters, the more votes.
    -Chili must be cooked, warmed up, and ready to go when you arrive at the farm.

    -Each chili entrant will be provided a table space of about 1 meter, under a tent. We will provide spoons, and bowls.  Please give each person just a taste of your chili.
    -In the past we had folks fill up before tasting all the chilies. The rest is up to you should you want to provide accompaniments. We request no alcoholic beverages as an accompaniment
     this year.

    -You should have a way to keep your chili warm. We will provide electricity if you need it but please let us know.
    -Please arrive at the farm no later than 11:30, as early as 11:00. You need to be ready for the first testers at 12:30.


    -Please email Lindsay (Mrsmeat@lnsartisanmeats.com) your chili name by Monday, August 7th. We will make a sign with the name your chili, if you’d like to have any other decorations, we would love it, but they are your responsibility.

  Last year we had over 300 people that consumed over 42 gallons of chili. That's 18 ounces per person!
